I don't really know anyone on LJ who has my LoA ~feels~ so I can't see these being very popular, but that's fine... It made me happy to make them, because it was an excuse to look through photos. I am so excited about the blu-ray release.

It's lovely to see icons of an classic movie passing by on my f-list every once in a while. And if making icons of a movie you like makes you happy - who cares whether they'll be popular or not? And I'd grab any opportunity to look at Omar Sharif in this movie too. ;-)

These are gorgeous.
LoA is one of those films that makes me misty-eyed weak and at the knees just to think about it.
It makes me very happy to know that there are others who love it as much as it deserves :)

I need to rewatch LoA, I was very much enjoying a bit of 40s David Lean not so long ago...

PS I was thinking about you the other day and wondering how you are because you haven't posted in AGES!

Argh I love this film. Not in the way you do, with the connection to the land of your birth, but it's been one of my favourite films since first I saw it. It's, well, one of those that made a connection with a world I had almost no knowledge of, being neither British nor Arabian (oh really) nor knowing much about the era of history (I was like fifteen when I first saw it, maybe?). But yeah. I appreciate your icons!

And I just realised I didn't really finish that comment - erm, what I mean to say is that despite my lack of setting knowledge, it got into my core in a way. It made me care, brought the place to my heart. It's a hallmark of good, in my books!
