LJ is down. Again.

You may know me as rachel2205. With Livejournal's service getting worse and worse, I may end up moving over here... I last backed up my journal here in October, though unfortunately the comments importing didn't work. I will try again when Livejournal makes it possible to do so!

~waves~ Along with its other ever-growing issues, LJ seems to be having an awful lot of server trouble of late. They've also changed their photo-upload protocol so I can no longer add photos to my paid LJ account - which was pretty much the only reason I was still keeping it. Hope to see you posting more over here soonest!

I'm wondering if they're under another DDOS attack... Ugh. I would be sad to leave LJ, having blogged there for 11 years, but over the last 2 years things have really declined a lot.

They haven't said anything about new attacks, at least from what I can tell, but I've been getting a slew of 'temporarily unavailable due to maintenance' messages. Also, LJ has often run insanely slowly of late. And among other things, the profile page for one of my accounts was unavailable for an entire week. I have this sinking feeling that the breakages and glitches are a direct result of Noo LJ trying to reconfigure itself as a faux Tumblr/FB.

I've been at LJ for nearly nine years now, but I think the site has fallen far enough below the acceptable-problems line that it's time to move on :-(

Yeah, them not saying anything is a big part of the problem - since they were bought out, the LJ team has been very opaque in its communication.

I agree with you, really. :( It feels sad, though. It's silly, really, because as long as I have all my entries saved I won't really lose anything if lj goes kaput, but it's been my go-to site for sooo long!
